Job Description
The Superintendent will be responsible for the on-site planning,
coordination, and execution of construction projects. The Superintendent will manage specific
responsibilities with the addition of various ancillary tasks as deemed necessary
by the Project Manager.
Duties And Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure that safety protocols are followed and that the project site is at all times compliant with OSHA regulations and Stout company safety policies.
- Coordinate & execute effective, recurring (weekly,) subcontractor safety meetings in a standard Stout format.
- Attend and participate professionally in recurring Owner, Architect, Contractor meetings and other meetings as needed.
- Actively pursue quality control and utilize the project drawings, specifications, approved submittals, and accepted industry standards to ensure that the work is correct.
- Initiate requests for information through appropriate channels as necessary to promote the progress of the work and to document any deviation.
- Coordinate & execute effective, periodic (as needed or directed,) pre-installation meetings in a standard Stout format.
- Ensure that all required testing and inspections are accomplished for the project in accordance with the construction documents.
- Schedule & execute work on site in accordance with the overall construction schedule.
- Create and implement effective, recurring (weekly,) 3-week schedules. Schedules to be issued to all subcontractors and suppliers in a standard Stout format, after garnering personal commitments to the schedule from all participants
- Coordinate & execute effective, recurring (weekly,) subcontractor coordination meetings in a standard Stout format. To include participation from each subcontractor performing work on site and each subcontractor set to begin work within the next 3-weeks. Meeting minutes distributed following each meeting to all subcontractors involved in the project at any time or level.
- Record a detailed daily log of activity including a description of the day’s activity, manpower logs, deliveries, weather conditions, visitors, inspections, deficiencies, etc.…
- Record a minimum of 20 storytelling photos of the jobsite each day including overall progress of the project and specifics that
- Maintain cleanliness on the project by working with the subcontractors to clean up after themselves in accordance with their subcontract agreement.
- Create and maintain a detailed, accurate set of as-built drawings for each project, throughout the project as the work progresses.
- Ensure site compliance with local Department of Environmental Quality regulations.

TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS

- Requires a High School diploma or GED.
- Minimum 5 years experience in commercial construction.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain prior to employment OSHA 30-hour certification.
- Must be able to drive and insurable through Stout’s insurance carrier.
- Must have a general knowledge of established commercial construction practices.
- Must have the ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, memos, plans, construction documents, contract documents, and specifications.
- Must have the ability to read and understand work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Good at mathematics with strong analytical skills and attention to detail is required.
- Time management, conflict resolution and negotiation skills are required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
